TMD Crew | Corbans Wine Estate in Henderson, Auckland

September 29 2010 . 04:25am

"This video features TMD members (Has, Phat1, Berst, Kost, Deus, Vans The Omega, Askew and Saves) working on the wall out at the Corbans Wine Estate in Henderson, Auckland.

The wall was painted through a weekend of unpredictable weather as a storm, apparently the size of Australia passed over the country.

This painting marks the launch of the sister project to Urban Development call ‘Sub-Urban Development’ which is taking place out at this unique West Auckland venue. After a year of negotiation with various parties TMD got the wall legal again on the condition that it will be maintained and a steady stream of interesting collaborations and small events will take place out there. October and November are already looking good with a solid line up of international and local artists making new work out there.

This video is also online to further promote TMD’s efforts to get to Miami this December to attend and participate in Primary Flight 2010. All the details of the show and regular updates available at:

Spawned during the Auckland graffiti boom of the mid-90’s, TMD has its origins in West Auckland. Fourteen years on the collectives work is found in every corner of the globe, covering USA, Asia, Europe and the United Kingdom. More about Primary Flight

Art Basel Miami Beach is the most important art show in the United States. As the sister event of Switzerland’s Art Basel, the most prestigious art show worldwide for the past 41 years, Art Basel Miami Beach combines an international selection of top galleries, with an exciting program of special exhibitions and parties, including crossover events in music, film, architecture and design. Exhibition sites are located in the city’s beautiful Art Deco District, within walking distance of the beach and many hotels.

PRIMARY FLIGHT falls under the umbrella of Art Basel Miami Beach, and is a collaborative curatorial production of site-specific, street level, mural installations. Primary Flight have in the past brought together over 100 of the world’s most influential street artists, to install their bodies of work live in the streets of Wynwood, Florida. Primary Flight is set to take place from 02 December – 05 December 2010.

The main focus of Primary Flight is to provide a catalyst for burgeoning art communities, a goal TMD strongly believe in. With Askew having already broken ground the previous year at this event, and as an incredible opportunity for any artist, the stage is now set for a Kiwi invasion.
