Over the weekend, the Known Gallery in Los Angeles hosted the opening for an exhibition from Dennis Morris, a UK-based photographer especially known for his work in the music industry. This particular showing focuses on his iconic shots of Bob Marley, a seminal period of time in his young career when he toured with the Jamaican singer-songwriter. The night also featured the release of a collaboration print with Shepard Fairey.

Arrested Motion recently had the pleasure of visiting a legend in the New York Graffiti scene – STASH. Long known for his bold outlines and clean shapes, the bomber is in Tokyo for a fresh exhibition. Entitled Cap Indicates Color, the new series of works explores some of the iconic spray cap motif & splatter that he made popular in with his visual language. This show opens at ATMOS’ Sports Lab Feb 9th at 7:30pm with the artist in attendance.

It was a trip down memory lane for us as we caught some of his most iconic collaborations with the fashion and vinyl industry’s biggest names. Not to mention, he has one of the most extensive collections of spray paint spanning over four decades. The show sets up an upcoming Los Angeles exhibition later this year with Known Gallery. Until then check out an inside look into Stash’s laboratory.

That’s the state of mind these paintings are in,” he said about the work on view in “Path of the Wave Warrior,” a massive exhibition of his paintings, collages and sculptures on view at Known Gallery on North Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, through Nov. 9.
